11 december 2004 -- Pr. Anatoly Egorin, a Russian academic, was awarded the "Prize of the President of the Republic of Tunisia for World Solidarity", in recognition for his activities in the service of solidarity and his studies on the Arab world.

The Head of State confers With Tunisia's Representative to " Committee of Wise Men"
1 September 2003--President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali received Monday, Mr. Noureddine Mejdoub, whom the head of state nominated as Tunisia's representative to the "Committee of Wise Men", a U.N structure entrusted with seeing to the materialization of the President Ben Ali's initiative for the creation of the World Solidarity Fund which had already been adopted by the United Nations' General Assembly.
